There is an urban legen which says that if you water the plants with beer it will grow bigger and preetier than watered traditionally.

Indeed, beer contains compounds that can be easily assimilated by plants. Also, the plant’s demand for acidity in flowerpot is satisfied by the acid found in beer.

Once it gets into soil, beer is starting to decompose in various substances like water, carbonic acid, lots of glucides, amino acids and vitamins. Plants use to feed a little part from these substances, except water.

More than that, some compounds must be digested first by bacterias that live in the soil, those last ones becoming food for the plants. The danger comes from the fact that beer becomes a favourable environment for pathogens bacterias propagation, so the risk for the plant to die in the end is very high.

So remember this: Drink the beer, flowers don't like it!
