Paul made me wonder this from another post, but is there any information available on how to make a website pleasing to the eye? Resources that give webmasters ideas on how to arrange content to make it easier for the general public but also ways to optimize profits?

    LOL, you got me, Duke.

Whenever I try to make my site/s even graMaticAlise (lol) correct, I lose business.

Know your market, and know your market's lingo.

Some folks know what, "LMAO" means, while others have no clue.

    Does that make sense?

um, I'll let you know after a few more drinks. :D

I think it's similar to you can't please everyone all the time and whats good for one person may be bad for another.

I guess from my standpoint, I only have 2 sites that are currently active, one under construction and 2 - 4 more in conceptual phases atm. For me, it's easy to make changes as none of my sites are established nearly as much as your sites. I also want to create similar structure for all my sites so they navigate similar and are user friendly for those familiar with my style and visitors alike.

    Make any sense?

In order to make my sites eye pleasing I got a set of colors, like colors that fit nice to each other and aren't annoying to watch or anything!

i know what you mean. There are several sites which explain the psychological colors for your visitors. Like blue calms them down etc. And also has a big chart with A LOT of colors which match nicely!

I prefer blue as it seems less strenuous on the eyes if you spend hours online. I think that may be one of the reasons that this is my favorite webmaster forum. I also hate clutter on a site and will usually close it down and move onto the next site.

well it all depends on what you want your customer to believe. If you want to look like a busy company the site will be busy to. If you want them to look like some company that is like about netherlands, use red white and blue and orange! so it all depends on what kind of site you got! IMO

I just find pages crammed together with too high of content to be too hard to follow. I'd rather have a bunch of links to seperate pages with clearly legible titles. Maybe it's because I'm a gamer and pretty much look at everything as high res as possible, no sure.

I like royal blue, with a black background and an arial text.
