Here are a few other tips that could help you increase you keyword ranking:
    * Directory submission (submit your site to as much directories as possible)
    * Link exchange (get relevant sites to link to you and offer then a link back from another site, direct link exchange could harm your site)
    * Invite your visitors to link to you (people within your target industry may find your site useful and may want to link to you, make it easy for them to link to you)
    * Offer a free resource from you site and implore people it benefits to link to your site)
    * RSS Feeds add RSS Feeds to your website if you do not already have it.

The list is long, I hope other members will add things that work for them to this list.

    - Posting in forums would be an option - if there are big forums discussing subjects related to the information on your site you could try to post your link in the forum...
    - Offer users good content , update your website often.
    - If your site has lots of images take care to have alt tag and also I think it would be useful in this case to use meta tags
    - the accesibility of the page

In my oppinion the factors that matter the most are the number of backlinks and the title + the content of the page.
