New Post Exchange Guidelines (proposed)

Post Exchange programs are and excellent way to promote content within the forums of any new website, the problem is that it's extremely rare for everyone to "give their all" when entering this type of program. The other problem is that link exchanges rarely ever set firm guidelines and the few existing rules are rarely, if ever, enforced.

What we are attempting to do here is structure an easy to follow program guide on UKWMW Post Exchange Program. I also intend to structure this program as a bit of a directory service so you can see a short description of the site your most interested in and exchange posts with that webmaster.

    UKWMW Post Exchange Program (proposed):

    - Option 1: Tier 1 membership --> A group member who is willing to add a minimum of 10 posts to a forum/forums of his/her choosing.

    - Option 2: Tier 2 membership --> A group member who is willing to add a minimum of 20 posts to a forum/forums of his/her choosing.

    - Option 3: Tier 3 membership --> A group member who is willing to add 25 + posts to a forum/forums of his/her choosing.

    - We are not here to pad memberslists so if your signing up just to add members then you will be booted from the program immediately and permanently.
    - New members to the program must prove themselves reliable (the same as you would with any new job).
    - All members to this program must use a signature designed to bring awareness to the program on their "enlisted sites".
    - The signature will be based off your agreed membership rank, either Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3. You cannot jump between Tiers so if you want a Tier 3 membership then you must post 25 + posts on all agreed forums. Should you fail to meet your quota, you will be demoted to the next lowest rank or removed from the program.
    - "Under Construction" sites will not be accepted into the program, neither will tobacco, gambling, warez, pornographic, racial, hate, discrimanatory, or drug related such as cialis, phenteramine.

The above is meant as a guideline to get us started on discussions on how to ultimately structure this program. There will be firm guidelines because no one wants to enter into a program, do the work and not receive what they put into it. Firm rules and guidelines as well as policing will ensure we all get what we deserve.

More to come as it pops into my head.

I have yet to determine exactly how to do this and will prolly need to determine this with you since I'm not 110% familiar with the inner workings of vb.

Personally, I think it would be best if the main forum was changed to encorporate reciprocal posting exchange and the subforums were organized as follows (for example only):

    Main Forum:

    - UKWebmaster World Forum Exchange Program

    - Guidelines, Announcements, Sign Up.
    - Approved Forum Exchange Website Directory.
    - Tier 1 Membership Forum.
    - Tier 2 Membership Forum.
    - Tier 3 Membership Forum.

Also, are we able to enable flash signatures in this forum because I'd like for each member to use a signature of my design? There will be three different signatures (one for each tier) and these sigs MUST be used at the member sites participating in the program. If we can't use flash then .gifs will be acceptable if necessary but I'll still need forum support for images enabled throughout this website and all member websites. The reason .swf's are preferred is I can also embedd hyperlinks in the signatures that re-direct to "supporter sites" which is a spin off to help feed this program.

I'm also considering the possibility of this being a site level participation program meaning that all member sites will have to show a small 88 x 31 banner somewhere on their index or homepage because it makes no sense to structure something this in-depth and feed it nothing.

We'll also have to work on how we want to keyword this program so we can get it on page one of google and I'd also like to see member sites add the keywords to their meta if possible.

This is all blue sky stuff so far but I think the only way a program like this will become successful is if it's setup, run and policed properly. I have no problem making this a pet project but only if there are clearly defined rules and structure.

Lastly, we'll have to discuss membership to this club. If vb supports open user groups then all we need do is have members suscribe to a group for approval by admin. This is my favorite method of structure because I believe rank can be assigned upon member approval into the program.

Just so you know, this is only a work in progress so it may not accurately reflect the final product.

I was thinking about signature images such as:

    Looks good Ken,
Lets break this down into two part, get the post exchange running first and them move to the signature exchange thing. If you can quickly finalise the post exchange and we can get it going for next week, we can modify and improve as time goes but lets get it started ASAP first

BTW, I'm currently testing interim signatures so don't panic at the size of my sig area, there will only be one sig since you can only member in one Tier at a time, not multiple.

What is the purpose of the signatures?

I would like to join a post exchange system, but I don't want to use my signature to advertise here, I want to use my own banner.

    Hello Morning star,
You are welcomed to join the post exchange, how many post can you contribute to other members sites per month and how many forums do you want to contribute to?
